Wolf Cubs

Wolf Cubs

Cub Scouts are aged between the ages of 8 – 10½. A Cub Pack is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors. Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.

Since reopening in September 2021, the Wolf Cubs have been to Gravity, Flixton Air Museum, Yoxford Swimming Pool and Stradbroke Fire Station, and have worked towards a multitude of badges, including top awards such as the Silver Award. We aim to run a vaired programme, to give a wide flavour of Scouting ready for when the young person moves up to Scouts.

In July 2023, our long-awaited Wolf Cub Camp took place, which was our first opportunity to camp as an independent section and build a stronger rapport. We were fortunate to go raft building, rock climbing, abseiling, hiking and even included an excursion to Laser Tag at Combat Paintballing (all at an affordable rate). These activities supported traditional Scouting aspects such as camping without electricity, pioneering, and cooking on Trangias.
