The end of term for most of us came with a special session, in recent years a tradition has grown of having a water fight and more Sections choose that this year. The Explorers and Adventurers Scouts went to Clip and Climb for a session on the climbing walls for their final session.
Most Sections are closed for the Summer but the Leaders are working on programme and jobs around the HQ.
The Explorer Summer camp was in Dorset at Corfe Castle and a great time was had by the group. Activities included hiking, high ropes course, swimming in the sea, a very wet and muddy “mud run” assault course, a visit to a water park, stand up paddle boarding, a three hour kayak voyage and of course camping. A fantastic week with mostly excellent weather.
At the end of term some longstanding members of our Leader and Executive Team left us for other roles in Scouting with the Norfolk County Scouts team. So if you would like to help us to continue to provide an excellent facility for the Young People of the area please get in touch to find out which role might suit you. There is lots of information about us on our website, www.fressingfieldscouts.com, and if you would like to know more email our Group Lead Volunteer at gsl@fressingfieldscouts.com or speak to any Leader.
We have been fortunate to have the project for the development of our allotment for our members to grow veg and fruit accepted by Tesco for one of their grant schemes. Diss, Aldeburgh and Saxmundham Tesco stores are now featuring our project with two others from the start of July to the end of September. They will issue tokens to shoppers to vote to rank them for grants of £500, £1,000 or £1,500. Please take any opportunity you can to get the tokens and vote for us!
This may not be one of the world's greatest literary works, but we think at least one of your friends or family would be interested in reading it! Please share below to help spread the amazing things 1st Fressingfield do.
